Following Jesus was never meant to be done alone. A church is a place where you are known, shepherded, encouraged, and supported, and where you in turn are called to love, serve, and build up others.
Being a member of a church means belonging to a church family. While it certainly includes attending, it means much more than showing up on Sundays. Church membership is meaningful, biblical, and practical. It is a mutual promise that you make to the congregation and that the congregation makes to you to care for one another and pursue Christ together.
